So this past weekend I spent my time at Longitude Festival in Marlay Park,Dublin and I have to say that it was AMAZING!!!! This was the first real music festival I have been to, so I was very excited about it and was counting down the days til I got to go. Many of the acts such as George Ezra, Hozier, Rudimental, Bastille and Bombay Bicycle Club are among some of my favourite artists and so I was really looking forward to seeing them live and they didn’t disappoint.
So on Friday we (myself and my Friend) made our way to the park for the festival to begin and with the sun shinning down and the tunes flowing it proved to be the start of an amazing weekend of music, great weather (surprisingly) and great company with friends. There is just something about hearing music live that makes it sound so much better and all of the artists were amazing. There is something incredible about just letting go and dancing and singing in a crowd to your favourite artists and letting the music just take over your body giving you a great sense of freedom.
The other thing I loved about the festival and also festivals in general is that although you go to see certain artists there are many more that you may have never heard of when you walked in and they become some of your favourites as you walk out. This happened to me for two artists in particular those being Chvrches and First Aid Kit. These were two bands that I had never really heard of before the festival and now I have grown to love their songs and their sound.
I can’t way to go back next year but I also hope I get to go to another Festival soon as it was such an incredible weekend and I can’t wait to experience it again.
