Chasing Waterfalls and Ninja for a Day

With just over a week before I go to camp, I have been spending my time chilling out and preparing for the adventure ahead. This involved lots of shopping and chilling out to get ready. Even though I do love shopping there is only so much of it that you can do until you eventually have to get out there and do something different and that’s what this week was all about.

First stop was little road-trip in search of some waterfalls. Our original plan was to head to Niagara Falls but we had already been there and although it is amazing it is also a little over commercialised for my liking. If you have the chance to go ,I would highly recommend it because it is amazing but we wanted to head and find some smaller ones. We headed to the area of Hamilton which is full of conservation areas and waterfalls. We drove ,parked the car, got a handy map from the car park and then headed on our way. Our first waterfall of Sherman Falls was about a 5 minute walk from the car so we were off to a good start. It was about 10 metres high so not huge but I think any waterfall looks amazing. We stayed and took some photos here before heading of in search of our next waterfall. After about a 1 km hike seeing some deer on our way which was amazing we arrived at Trinity Falls for our second waterfall of the day. It was amazing seeing some snow and ice still surrounding the waterfall as a reminder of the winter that was just coming to an end. A short Pitt stop here and we continued on our journey.

We unfortunately didn’t get to see anymore waterfalls with time and daylight not on our side but we did get to go for a beautiful hike and see an old railway. I think everyone wants to take that iconic picture on a railway with an amazing scenery in the background but going on real railways is just too dangerous. Although there was not some amazing mountain landscape here it was still nice to get that photo without putting my life at risk. It was so nice to spend to whole day outside in the fresh air surrounded by trees. There really is nothing better and at the end of the day you just feel so much better.

Wanting to get out of the house again and this time do something a little more active we headed to an indoor adults playground. Pursuit OCR is what I feel ninja training is like. For $20 you can get a day pass and live out your ninja dreams, swinging from monkey bars, dodging laser beams and climbing rock walls. There is also a ball pitt and a bike track where you can race and relieve childhood memories. If you are feeling up to it you can also face the wall at the end and try over come it. I failed every time I tried but you know it’s the trying that counts. Spending the day acting like a child was amazing and it was great to put the real world away for a little bit and just have fun.

Now I have just over a week to prepare for camp and get my last bits from the shop. I am so excited for my next adventure and to get back to camp. I think that is where I feel most myself and I just love it.
