So the year is coming to a close and it is always a time to reflect on what has happened in the last year and think about the things that you want to change in the coming year. This past year has truly been amazing and I have done so many things that I have wanted to do and have had so much fun. From travel to festivals to making new friends and moving country for a year this past year has pushed me in many ways to become who I really am and not let anything stop me from doing what I wanted to do.
This year has also been a year of many firsts for me. From deciding to start a Youtube channel in January which has been amazing to volunteering at he Dublin Dance Festival, passing my driving test (3rd time lucky but still my first official driving licence), running my first 5km road race and finally moving to a new country for a year and making so many new friends. I also mustn’t forget that I only started this very blog in May of this year and now it has grown into something I love and I can’t wait for next year when I will write more posts than ever hopefully and grow this blog into something amazing.
We all make resolutions for the New Year and usually many of them are unsuccessful as we try to do the impossible or go to hard for the first week in January with this renewed enthusiasm and then flop and give up. This year I’m going to set myself small , do-able resolutions that hopefully I will be able to stick at for longer such as developing my blog and Youtube channel into things that I am really proud of. I want to get into a routine of getting fitter and healthier and make it a part of my daily life, not doing crazy things but starting off slow and building up. I did quite a bit of travel this year and I want to do more next year, maybe not flying to crazy places in the world but visting places in my own country that I have never been to before. Most of all I want to spend the year with family and friends and just live my life, I don’t want to hold myself back when opportunities present themselves , I want to grab them with both arms and enjoy the ride. Finally I want to be me, I know it sounds cheesy but I want to come to this time next year and say Yes, I lived 2015 as me , I didn’t compromise myself for anyone or anything, I was truly ME.
So as the champagne is flowing tonight and the fireworks are lighting up the sky, think to yourself , what do you want to achieve in the next year, it may be very small or very big but if you set your mind to it , you can do did.
So here’s to 2015, may it be AMAZING !!!!
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!
Emma
