The classes are over and the first lot of exams are done so it must mean first semester is over. This means only one thing for me , it’s time to head home for the Christmas holidays! As you are reading this I am currently on the train to the airport where I will catch my flight to Dublin. I have not really been home sick but there is just something about Christmas and being with all my family and friends that has had me counting down the days until today when I fly home. I am also looking forward to sleeping my own room and bed which probably seems silly but there is something nice about being in your own space and a space that you have filled with things from over the years and just relieving those memories.
Christmas at home is the best thing that I can think of and I have even forbidden (well asked nicely) Mam from putting up the tree until I come home as it has been a tradition each year to put up the Christmas tree together with the festive tunes on. So tomorrow I will don my Christmas jumper and turn the Christmas songs up on high while I get to decorating the tree. I think once I get home and the tree is up it will really feel like Christmas is just around the corner, I can almost taste the turkey. I am looking forward to just taking the time to relax and catch up with family and friends.
Christmas is really my favourite time of year and I can’t wait until my plane touches down on the runway and I’ll be home for Christmas.
Merry Christmas Everyone.
Emma
