All The Bright Places

I love reading and I am always on the hunt for a new book to read. I was watching one of Zoella’s favourite videos and she mentioned this book and I had also seen it on the shelves in the bookshop I work in. I thought it sounded good and thought I would give it a try. The book is All The Bright Place by Jennifer Niven and I thought it was amazing. It follows the story of Theodore Finch and Violet Markey who meet each other on the roof of the school bell tower. From here their story and friendship blossom as they both give each other new reasons to live and love life. Violet is struggling to come to terms with the death of her sister in a car crash  which she survived. Theodore is struggling everyday to stay present and Awake as he calls it and has contemplated death on many occasions. The two are different as Violet is part of the popular cool gang and Theodore is called ‘Theodore Freak’ by almost everyone at school but an unlikely friendship starts to develop. Violet begins to learn how to live again from the boy who wants to die.

The book follows there story as their friendship grows and develops into a love story. We see how they help each other in their own ways to continue to live life to its fullest and take every opportunity to be happy.  It is a beautiful story of how a chance encounter with someone can change your whole life for the better. The two learn things from each other everyday they spend together and as they try to get their lives back together. We begin to see Violet trying to save this boy who she has fallen in love with. It has moments that will make you laugh and moments that will make you cry as we hope these two character will stay together forever. If a book can make me so emotional that I feel for the characters then I know it is a good one and that is exactly what happened with this book. It is a wonderful read with many poignant messages throughout and I would definitely recommend it.
