With two weeks off between the end of exams and the start of second semester me and a few friends decided to plan a little trip to take a break. Copenhagen was the destination of choice and none of us had ever been there so it was excitement all round to explore a new city for a couple of days . I have always wanted to visit Denmark and so I couldn’t wait for this trip. We stayed in the Generator Hostel which was perfect for our needs. It was right in the centre of town close to everything we wanted to see and the staff were all so friendly and were happy to help with any questions we had. I would definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a nice place to stay in Copenhagen on a budget.
We were only in the city for a short time so we took advantage of Copenhagen being one of the world’s most bike friendly cities and rented bikes from the hostel to explore the city. We spent the day cycling from place to place from the botanic gardens to beautiful church to the little mermaid statue. One place that was amazing was the Rundetaarn which is a round tower that is in the centre of the city. You can walk up to the top and have an amazing 360 view of the city, perfect for Instagrams. There was not really any specific places that I liked but just the city in general was great and I will definitely be heading back to explore more. The only downside is that it is quite expensive for eating out but once you are prepared that you may have to pay a little more it really doesn’t cause problems.
One thing that you can’t pass up are the pastries. There are many gorgeous bakeries in the city that have a huge variety of amazing parties to choose from. My personal favourite are cinnamon swirls or buns and my mouth is watering now just thinking about the amazing one I had. I would hop on a plane right now just to get another one and I cant wait to head back and fulfil the gap that is now in my life .
Copenhagen definitely didn’t disappoint and we had such an amazing time. The trip was not long enough so I am definitely going to have to plan another trip in the future but I can’t recommend the city enough for anyone looking for a weekend getaway or a longer trip.

Looks very enjoyable. I’ve been to Copenhagen (here’s what I did: http://traveluxblog.com/copenhagen/) not long ago and can’t wait to return 🙂
