So last week it was my birthday and I turned 26. I am officially now closer to thirty than I am to twenty , even though I don’t like to admit it, although I still feel like I’m an eighteen sometimes trying to figure out my life. Age is but a number though as I like to think about it, it doesn’t matter the number we put on our life we can live it how ever we feel. For me sometimes that is as a six year old child and others as a ninety year old woman, depending on my mood. My birthday always falls either when I was in school or now while I am working and this year it was no different but I still had the best day. This is usually fine as I don’t really like to make a fuss about it, if someone doesn’t know it is my birthday I probably won’t tell them, but if people make something of it I will take it all in and have fun.

I woke to balloons, streamers and a sign on my door which was a nice surprise in the morning. Then my desk in the office was decorated with balloons and banners which was great. I also some gifts which mainly contained chocolate as people know me too well. I got a package from home too which was also just full of chocolate which was great, I really am very easy to please. It was my directors birthday the week before so we had a joint staff social birthday bash too which was great. We had snacks, did some karaoke, had glow sticks and played some games. It was a great night and some great fun. I also got a present of a moose in a bucket hat too off the staff which was so nice. Having a birthday at camp really is the best as you are basically with your second family whether you have known them a day or a year it just feels natural. I also had to skip around the dining hall as is camp tradition with people signing. Of course I also had a little birthday photo shoot as well because why not, so the photos are the product of that. I was freezing standing out on the lake but you gotta do it for the photo.

So I may be another year older but I am still my same goofy self. I thought writing this I would come up with some great lessons I have learned or how I want this year to go but really if it keeps going as it is going I will be happy. I get to live in the most amazing place with scenery all around which I am in awe of. I get to work with people who are as passionate about things as I am and who accept me for my crazy self. I have the most wonderful family and friends who support me from near and far. If my twenty-sixth year keeps going like this , it is going to be one amazing year.

So happy birthday to me, another year older but still as goofy as ever.
